Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 May 2026. These Terms govern your use of the VCDS Pro website and cloud services. The desktop software is additionally governed by the End User License Agreement (EULA) shipped with the Software.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using VCDS Pro Cloud ("the Service") you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms together with the Privacy Policy and the in-app EULA form the complete agreement between you and VCDS Pro.

2. The Service

"VCDS Pro" is a sole proprietorship (in registration) based in the Republic of Kosovo. Contact details and statutory information are in the Imprint.

3. License tiers

Detailed license restrictions are set out in the EULA. The EULA prevails over these Terms for software-use questions.

4. Payments, invoices and VAT

All payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Prices are quoted in EUR and are the final amount you pay at checkout.

VCDS Pro is established in the Republic of Kosovo, which is outside the European Union. Until VCDS Pro is registered for VAT under the EU's Non-Union One-Stop Shop (OSS) scheme, no EU VAT is collected by VCDS Pro at the point of sale. Depending on the laws of your country of residence, import VAT may be due on cross-border digital purchases — this is the buyer's responsibility. Once VCDS Pro reaches the OSS threshold and registers, the applicable EU VAT will be added at checkout and itemised on the invoice.

A receipt and a Stripe-issued invoice are emailed automatically after a successful payment. Workshop subscriptions are billed yearly in advance.

5. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

You have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days under EU Directive 2011/83/EU. This right is FORFEITED once you activate the Software with the license key delivered to you, in line with Art. 16(m) of that Directive. You expressly consent to this forfeiture when you click "Activate" in the desktop app.

Workshop subscriptions may be cancelled at any time and will not auto-renew; pro-rata refunds for the current period are not provided.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only on vehicles you own or for which you have the documented consent of the owner, and only for lawful diagnostic, repair, research or authorised workshop tuning work. You may NOT use the Service to:

7. ECU modification — IMPORTANT

The Software can read from and write to vehicle control units. ECU modification may void your manufacturer warranty, void the type approval of the vehicle, void your motor insurance, and may be a criminal offence depending on jurisdiction (e.g. §19(3) StVZO in Germany, Art. 78 Codice della Strada in Italy, the U.S. Clean Air Act §203(a)(3) for emissions). You are solely responsible for legal compliance. See Section 4 of the EULA for the full notice.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind except as required by mandatory law (including EU Directive 2019/770 on digital content). We do not warrant that the Service is uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every vehicle or diagnostic adapter. A compatibility matrix is published as guidance only.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law our aggregate liability arising from these Terms shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the event. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, vehicle damage, bricked ECUs or lost data. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or where liability cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or Section 4 of the EULA. We may remotely deactivate a license used in violation of the acceptable-use clause.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kosovo. The competent courts of Pristina shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that EU consumers retain the right under EU Reg. 1215/2012 to bring proceedings in the courts of their member state of residence.

12. Online dispute resolution

The European Commission's ODR platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged nor willing to take part in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

13. Changes

We may amend these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page and via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
